how to care for your
Great Lengths Extensions
Great Lengths are 100% natural human hair and when maintained correctly behave just like your own hair. A little more time and care is needed, but the investment is worth it and you'll be impressed with the quality results.
Did you know you lose approximately 50-150 hairs a day! When extensions are applied, some of those loose hairs remain trapped in the bonds so regular maintenance is essential to prevent hair from matting. A small percentage of bonds may also be lost during the life of the extensions. This is perfectly normal and, if kept, can possibly be reapplied.
Products
The Great Lengths product range has been specifically forumlated to care for and prolong the life of your extensions and bonds. With a pH value compatible with your hair and scalp, our products are kind and form a vital part of your daily maintenance routine.
The range includes:
Shampoo 1 for Dry HairShampoo 2 for Damaged HairShampoo 3 for Daily UseEnergy ConditionerAnti-Tap Solution (Final Rinse)Vital Care LotionSerum Hair Fluid
Washing
Do not shampoo your hair for at least 48 hours after hair extensions have been applied to allow the bond to set.Always use Great Lengths products as these have been designed to prolong the appearance of your hair extensions.Always follow the directions on the bottle.Shampoo and condition your hair at least once a week.Finish by rinsing your hair in diluted Final Rinse Anti-Tap Solution to restore the pH balance of your hair and scalp.
Drying
Always dry your hair thoroughly, starting at the bond, as it is at its most vulnerable when wet.Do not towel dry the hair with a scrubbing motion. Instead, use a blotting motion and wrap the hair in a towel to remove the moisture.Always blow-dry your hair on a cool temperature.
Brushing
Flat headed, soft bristled Great Lengths
brushes are the most suitable. With small sections of hair, gently brush
from the bonds to the ends of your hair.On a regular basis, separate the bonds with
your fingers to prevent matting. Then brush
gently over all your extensions.
Sleeping
We recommend you tie your hair in a loose ponytail to
prevent tangling while sleeping.
Exercise
Great Lengths Extensions suit most lifestyles, but may need a litle extra care in these circumstances:
Regular swimming, particularly in sea or chlorinated water.Regular sauna or steam room use.Excessive aerobic exercise.
After these activities, use diluted Final Rinse Anti-Tap Solution to restore your hair and scalp to its natural pH balance. Remember to always dry the bonds throughly.
Styling
Great Lengths Serum Hair Fluid should only be applied to the lengths and ends of your hair, and not the bond.Great Lengths offer a range of brushes for maintaining your extensions without damaging the bond, our round brushes can be used for blow-drying.Straighteners and heated tools can be used, however they must be kept away from the bonds.
